Project Description

The project consists of constructing an inlet spillway located on the north side of Walnut Avenue and leading into the 37 AF basin through an energy dissipater. The 37 AF basin will then discharge the collected storm water through a low flow outlet and storm drain connecting to the existing 120” storm drain located north of Main Street. The Walnut Avenue basin is designed to allow a relatively large flow of storm water to enter and be a discharged in a controlled manner by an outlet structure in the event of a large storm. The basin system will reduce sediment transport to the Mojave River and eliminate flooding along Walnut Avenue and Main Street.
