In pursuit of the goal of providing a stable and sustainable water supply for the High Desert Region, MWA has constructed and currently operates projects that provide regional water supply benefits. Water supply facilities primarily consist of delivering and storing water from the State Water Project to meet needs throughout our service area. MWA's first pipeline, the Morongo Basin Pipeline, was completed in 1994 - and currently delivers water to groundwater recharge sites in Hesperia, Landers, Yucca Valley, and Joshua Tree.
Since the construction of our first recharge sites as part of the Morongo Basin Pipeline Project, MWA has been increasing the numbers of recharge sites across our Service Area. Construction of some of our most recent facilities was completed within the last few years. Read more about our newest facilities on our Recharge Facilities page.
